Shelley Rice is an art historian and contemporary critic whose interest in women’s issues began during the 1970s, when she wrote columns for The Village Voice, Artforum and the Soho Weekly News. An Arts Professor at New York University, she will speak about female artists, creative development and aging, and her talk will incorporate ideas she proposed in her book Inverted Odysseys: Claude Cahun, Maya Deren, Cindy Sherman as well as in recent essays published in and the monograph ORLAN EN CAPITALES.
