Astrophotography, beyond its purely scientific value, has become an art form in its own right.

But both creating a photograph of the night sky and the digital processing have their own special challenges. In this lecture, gallery member and astronomer George Greenstein and classical music composer and astrophotographer Preston Stahly will present stunning astronomical images and discuss both their scientific import and the techniques used to make them.
