When my children were young, I wanted to teach them those values I believed were important for a happy and fulfilling life. Instead of tangling them up in wordy explanations, I would draw pictures to illustrate the ideas that I thought were fundamental. I hoped that my simple images would stick with them and help them to shape who they wished to be. My scribbles are long gone but the lessons remain. I have had the time to redo my cartoons into what I hope are memorable images – my photographs along with drawings by Jill Galloway Sherman.
