All my work is primarily a quest for the intimacy of places and things. This series, “There is here, now,” reflects on uprooting. Landscapes are mindscapes. Mostly taken in Switzerland, where I come from, idealized by distance and time, they are relics devoutly carried. Still-lifes are not silent, they translate a complex fabric of feelings my English is not able to. Birds talk too, whether free as a seagull or grounded as a peacock.
