“Now Among Us”

As a ten-year old, I read science fiction. Sagas of invaders from far-off galaxies, conquering Earth with enormous brains and fantastic weapons.

It didn’t happen.

Or maybe it did, quietly, without us knowing. Maybe they are among us now.

No evidence, of course. Cloaking devices, probably.

But in the sunlight, maybe we see their shadows.
