WalkaboutNY

A passionate wanderer by instinct, I meander through the city practicing street photography that hovers between realism and abstraction. My images emerge in the moments when the city anyone can see ceases to be. When for me, the edges, and the borders between inside and out, foreground and background, vanish.

Geometry, texture and color are my primary tools. There are no filters, no digital manipulation in my work, just a pure act of seeing, captured in a single, deliberate exposure.

I’m inspired by artists who also captured the city—from photographers Saul Leiter and Lee Friedlander, and musicians Philip Glass and George Gershwin, to painter Edward Hopper. I seek to create work as inherently all-at-once as the city itself, a multi-faceted portrait revealed by looking beneath, beyond, and between, and invite the viewer to see.
