Fireflies

Out of the humid heat of a summer’s night here and there - twinkling lights. They emit signals in a private code. They are difficult to capture. And, like some ideas and understandings and memories, once captured they are difficult to keep alive.

Blinking into existence at the Soho Photo Gallery is the show - FIREFLIES - created by our summer interns. Through their eyes we see ad-men of Madison Avenue blink into existence; we see apparently random bits of New York City illuminated; we see different parts of people take shape; and we get two glimpses of of time, one real but elusive and the other imagined.

We invite visitors to decode the messages of these “Fireflies”.
