Join us on Zoom for a Soho Photo Gallery Speaker Series event with eminent fine-art photographer Elinor Carucci.

For more than thirty years, she has created deeply personal photographs, drawing from the intimate layers of her life to illuminate universal human experiences. Her long-term projects explore family, love, aging, vulnerability, and life’s emotional turning points.

For this Soho Photo event, Elinor will talk about and show images from her major bodies of work, including Closer, Diary of a Dancer, Mother, Midlife, and The Collars of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She will discuss how she photographs people in both their private and public lives.

Elinor’s photographs are in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Brooklyn Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Her editorial work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, and W. She has received the ICP Infinity Award (2001), a Guggenheim Fellowship (2002), and a New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship (2010). She has published five monographs: Closer, Diary of a Dancer, Mother, Midlife, and The Collars of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She teaches in the graduate program of Photography at the School of Visual Arts and at Hunter College Art Department and is represented by Edwynn Houk Gallery.
