AI Policy

Artificial Intelligence is a revolutionary new technology that is upending society in myriad ways. In particular, it is upending the practice of photo-realistic image making and challenging core assumptions of what a photographic image is.

Soho Photo Gallery celebrates the art of photography as a medium rooted in reality, whether captured through the lens of a camera or rendered through photochemical methods.

We recognize the evolving role of technologies in the creative process and welcome the use of AI tools in the post-production and enhancement of images. In an effort to foster transparency and appreciation for both traditional photographic skills and innovative techniques, every piece displayed in our gallery must originate from a genuine photographic source.

While AI may assist in the creative process, all work must begin with the photographer’s real photographic image, ensuring that the foundation of the art remains grounded in the physical world.
