The Soho Photo Gallery internship program offers a unique opportunity to become involved in a variety of gallery operations and engage with artists spanning a wide-range of photographic practices. We work with the intern to emphasize hands-on exposure to gallery activities of particular interest and we tailor a schedule to suit individual circumstances. We are delighted to benefit from the intern’s energy, enthusiasm and abilities.

Interns come to us from a variety of backgrounds. Some are still in college (and may be able to qualify for school credit); some have already graduated. All gain exposure to everything that goes on at the gallery.

We introduce interns to the many different aspects of gallery management (both artistic and administrative), such as:

  • Portfolio review
  • Installations
  • Assisting exhibitors
  • Participate in managing international competitions
  • Working with social media/publicity
  • Website maintenance
  • Special events
  • Maintaining the gallery premises

Interns also have the opportunity to engage with the public as gallery staff.

Over the course of a typical month, an intern will be at the gallery with a number of Soho Photo photographers, offering unparalleled access to artists with varied creative processes and perspectives.
